Our Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmasters were the main targets for our scouts, siblings and friends. We had nearly 900 water balloons, many of them filled with ice-cold water. The kids had a great time despite the 105-degree weather. What's not to love about getting wet? Mr. Joe was sad that this will be his last Waterfest, but has threatened to return with even more water balloon next year. Mr. Chris will be taking over and the kids had fun initiating him.

Webelos Trip to Austin

Constant Drizzle from the moment we left Flower Mound on Saturday until about noon on Sunday didn't deter our band of intrepid Scouts. Despite one of our group having a rear window broken from flying debris from a Semi, everyone made it safely to the Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown. We had a wonderful tour guide and our boys learned a lot. Who knew there were camels in Texas? Mr. Joe wanted to take home a Pipistelle Bat, only the size of a large chicken nugget, but able to eat 20% of its weight in mosquitoes daily.

Sunday brought us new adventures. Our much-anticipated foray to Pioneer Farms to earn our Texas Badge was a washout. The Park was closed because all the rain turned it into a bog. In great Scout fashion and using the latest in handheld technology we made alternative plans, we spent the morning touring the State Capitol, definitely an excellent leaning experience. We followed that up with a visit to the Bob Bullock Museum of Texas History, a great place to work on the Texas Badge. We enjoyed a 20-minute movie, complete with special effects inside the theater. All in all this was a great trip for the boys. Now our Webelo I boys will begin planning their trip for next January.

We had nearly every Scout in attendance. We managed to get in our hike, Regatta Boat making, leather working, and make additions to our walking sticks before the rain and tornado sirens sent us to shelter in the rest rooms. Thankfully everything turned out alright. Our boys learned a valuable lesson in survival and enjoyed the puddles as well.

The afternoon activities were cancelled due to rain, but the boys I have talked to still had fun. The Regatta races and Trebuchet launch have been rescheduled for November 6.

Waterfest

What a wonderful Waterfest! Asst. Cubmaster Philip Cluck made a "Slip and Slide" for the Pack, he and Cubmaster Joe spent a great deal of time helping the kids set sail. We had over 1000 water baloons for what turned out to be the best battle ever...the kids vs. Mr. Joe. Everyone had a great time and we can't wait until next year.

Fall Rally

We had a very successful Fall Rally and had 15 new boys join us! What a great bunch of families are in our Pack.

I want to especially thank Beth Bergeron for planning our Walking Stick activity. What a creative plan. All the boys loved it.

Thanks to Glea Shields and Mathhew Guess' grandfather for bringing out their leather working supplies and stamps. I think the boys learned a lot and the siblings had fun too.

Thanks to Drew Leaumont for leading the fising and to Peter Brown for taking on the bike ride and bike safety.

With all the wind dinner was a little on the wild side but thanks to all who pitched in to make sure the hot dogs and burgers were ready to eat.

Thanks to Drew who managed to get a safe campfire going despite the wind.

Thanks to our Webelos for the Flag ceremony, we look forward to the fall for another one (hopefully without the wind).
